Frequently Asked Questions
How many trivia questions does the generator have?
The Trivia Generator includes over 558 carefully curated questions covering 11 distinct categories. New questions are added periodically to keep the library fresh.
What categories are available?
Questions are organized into the following categories:
- General Knowledge — Everyday facts and broad topics
- Science — Physics, chemistry, biology, astronomy
- History — Events, figures, and eras from world history
- Geography — Capitals, landmarks, rivers, mountains
- Sports — Rules, athletes, championships, world records

What do the difficulty levels mean?
Easy questions are widely known facts most people learn in school. Medium questions require a bit more specialized knowledge or attention to detail. Hard questions are aimed at trivia enthusiasts and may include lesser-known facts, specific names, or precise figures.
Are the questions randomly generated or pre-written?
All questions are pre-written and verified by humans for accuracy and clarity. The randomness comes from the selection — each click pulls a question at random (using cryptographically secure random numbers) from the pool that matches your category and difficulty filters.
Is my score and saved data private?
Yes. Everything — your score, your favorites, your filter selections — is stored only in your browser using local storage. Nothing is sent to a server, nothing is tracked, and clearing your browser data will reset your progress.
Can I export my favorite questions?
Yes. Save any question you like by clicking the heart icon, then click "Show" in the Saved Questions section, followed by "Export" to download all your favorites as a plain text file with questions, answers, categories, and difficulties.
Can I use this for a trivia night or pub quiz?
Absolutely. Many users use it to host casual trivia at home, in offices, or for classroom games. Use category and difficulty filters to balance your rounds, copy questions for printable handouts, or display them on a screen as you host.
Does it work offline?
Once the page is loaded in your browser, all questions are available without an internet connection. You can keep generating questions, marking answers, and reviewing favorites even with no network — perfect for travel, road trips, or low-signal areas.
How accurate are the answers?
We strive for factual accuracy, but trivia answers can sometimes depend on context (e.g., the world's largest desert depends on whether you count cold deserts). Where ambiguity exists, we try to provide the most widely accepted answer. If you spot an issue, the questions live in src/lib/data/trivia.ts in our source.
