Pet Care Checklist
A recurring routine planner for your pets. Set how often each task should happen — feeding, walks, grooming, medication, flea treatment and vet visits — log when you last did it, and let the tool tell you what's due.
List the animals you look after. For separate routines per pet, add a category per pet with "Add category" below.

About Pet Care Checklist
The Pet Care Checklist is a recurring-task planner that keeps your pet's routine on track without you having to remember every interval. Unlike a one-off to-do list, it understands that pet care repeats: meals and walks happen daily, coats need brushing weekly, flea treatment is monthly, and a vet checkup comes round once a year. You set how often each task should happen and log the date you last did it; the tool works out when each one is next due and flags anything that's slipping.
Tasks are grouped into practical areas — Feeding & Water, Exercise & Enrichment, Grooming & Hygiene, Health & Medication, Vet & Vaccinations, and Home & Supplies — each pre-filled with common jobs you can rename, delete, or add to. A status dashboard counts what's overdue, due soon, up to date, or not yet logged, and an alert panel lists anything that needs attention so a dose or a vet booster never gets missed. Running a multi-pet household? List each animal in the pets bar, and add a dedicated category per pet if their routines differ. Everything saves automatically to your browser's local storage — no account, no sign-up, nothing sent to a server. Prefer paper? Hit "Download PDF" for a printable copy, and for trips away pair this with the Pet Travel Checklist.
How to Use Pet Care Checklist
- Add each of your pets in the "Your pets" bar so the checklist reflects your household at a glance.
- Go through each area and remove any task that doesn't apply with the trash icon, then add your own in the "Add a task" field — press Enter or tap the + button.
- For every task, set how often it should happen using the frequency dropdown — daily for feeds and walks, monthly for flea treatment, yearly for boosters.
- Set the last-done date for anything you've already done. The tool immediately calculates the next due date and shows a status badge.
- Each time you complete a task, press its "Done" button — this stamps today's date and rolls the next due date forward automatically.
- Check the dashboard and the "Needs attention" panel whenever you visit. Clear anything red first, then "due soon".
- For a multi-pet home with different routines, click "Add category" and name it after a pet to give it its own set of tasks.
- Export a JSON backup now and then, use Import to move it to another device, or Download PDF to stick a copy on the fridge.
Tip: keep daily tasks like feeds and walks at the top of your routine and press "Done" as you go — the overdue panel then becomes a quick "what still needs doing today" view.
Frequently Asked Questions
How does the "next due" date work?
Each task has a frequency and a last-done date. The next due date is simply the last-done date plus the interval — so a monthly flea treatment applied on 1 March is next due on 31 March, and a daily walk done today is due again tomorrow. Pressing "Done" sets the last-done date to today and the cycle restarts from there.
How is this different from the Pet Travel Checklist?
This planner is for everyday, repeating care at home — feeding, walks, grooming, medication and vet reminders that come round again and again. The Pet Travel Checklist is a one-off list for taking your pet on a trip: carriers, paperwork, and a rest-stop planner. Many owners use both.
Can I use this for a multi-pet household?
Yes. Add each animal in the "Your pets" bar for a quick roster. If your pets share a routine, one shared checklist is simplest. If their needs differ — say a dog that needs daily walks and a cat that needs a litter tray — click "Add category" and name a category after each pet so each has its own tasks and schedule.
Does it send reminders or notifications?
No — it doesn't push notifications or emails. It's a visual planner: open the page and the dashboard and "Needs attention" panel show what's due. Many people bookmark it and check it each morning as part of the routine.
Are the default frequencies veterinary advice?
No, they're sensible general starting points. The right intervals depend on your pet's species, breed, age, and health, and on the specific products you use — flea and worming schedules in particular vary by brand. Always follow your vet's guidance and product instructions, and adjust each frequency to suit your pet.
Is my data private?
Yes. Your pets, schedule, dates, and custom tasks are stored only in your browser's local storage on this device. Nothing is uploaded to any server and there's no account. Clearing your browser data removes it, so keep a JSON export if it matters.
Does it work offline?
Once the page has loaded, your planner lives in local storage and works offline. Open it on the same device where you saved it; your data only moves between devices if you Export and Import it.
