How does the Online Tally Counter work?

The Online Tally Counter allows you to create multiple counters to track different items or events. Each counter can be incremented, decremented, reset, or removed. Counters can be labeled and optionally included in a running total calculation.

How do I add a new counter?

Click the "Add Counter" button to create a new counter. You can have up to 6 counters at once. Each counter starts at 0 and can be customized with a label.

How do I increment or decrement a counter?

Click the "+" button to increment or the "-" button to decrement. On mobile, these buttons are positioned on the left and right sides of the count number for easy thumb access.

What does "Add to Total" mean?

When checked, the counter's value is included in the running total displayed at the top. Uncheck this option to exclude a counter from the total calculation.

How do I reset a counter?

Click the yellow reset button (circular arrow icon) to set a counter back to 0. This only affects the individual counter, not the total.

How do I remove a counter?

Click the gray trash button to remove a counter. You must have at least one counter, so the remove button is only available when you have multiple counters.

Can I reorder my counters?

Yes! On desktop, you can drag and drop counters to reorder them using the grip handle (six dots) on the left side of each counter. This feature is hidden on mobile for better usability.

Does my data save automatically?

Yes! All your counter data, including counts, labels, and settings, are automatically saved to your browser's local storage. Your data will persist between sessions.

What's the difference between "Reset All" and "Clear All"?

"Reset All" sets all counters back to 0 but keeps your labels and settings. "Clear All" removes all counters and creates a fresh start with one new counter.

How many counters can I have?

You can have up to 6 counters at once. This limit helps maintain good performance and usability across all devices.
